PEERS for Professionals

February 16 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am

The PEERSĀ® Curriculum for School-Based Professionals is a social skills training curriculum for adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Created by Elizabeth Laugeson in 2014, the curriculum provides lessons to help students develop and maintain friendships. This presentation will provide an overview of the research that supports this system of teaching social skills, a guide to the components of the lessons, and tips for successfully incorporating the curriculum into the classroom. Participants will also be encouraged to begin planning their own implementation of the curriculum with time available for questions and troubleshooting.
